Owner of PA Natural Gas Facility that Exploded Has Lengthy Record of Pipeline Safety Violations

Williams Partners L.P., the owner/operator of the natural gas compressor station that exploded in northeastern Pennsylvania has a history of serious natural gas pipeline safety violations, according to records obtained by NaturalGasWatch.org in an article dated, March 2012.

How have they performed more recently?

The SaneEnergyProject.org reports that 2013 has not been the Williams Company's best year either, with 5 incidents since January, including two major explosions in New Jersey and Louisiana. Despite this track record, Williams rejected safety recommendations from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that suggested they bury their Rockaway pipeline deeper under the sand, reports the site.
